Bad Parents – First refine… and then discipline your children

Some parents in the name of disciplining their children punish them severely and frequently. Most of the time, these severe punishments will be for simple issues and this can kick start depression in children. Children who are unnecessarily punished, both physically and mentally, often grow up with severe emotional problems.

If we take a closer look at these parents, we will find that they themselves are severely undisciplined. In reality, they are bad role models for their children and the children are imitating what they seen in their parents.

What kind of role models can drunkard parents make? The children of such parents are getting a message that drinking is something great and it needs to be imitated. Those parents who fight in front of their children and abuse each other are sending wrong messages to their children. Violence is taught to children in such homes and they make use of it in the first opportunity they get. A husband who beats his wife in front of their children is indirectly passing on the message to the children that they need to retort to violence to gain upper hand.

Such bad parents should refine first. And then they should start disciplining their children.
