
Going Paperless: A way Forward to Control Climate change

A Primary Teachers' College in Papua New Guinea(PNG) has taken a bold stance to go paperless in its operation to contribute to the efforts of the global community to control global warming. Balob Teachers' College in Lae bought 40 laptop computer for its staff members to use in their teaching. They will connect laptops to projectors to lecture and intranet to post assigments and exams. The college aims to minimize use of paper in the next few years. However, the exercise comes at a price. The lecturers will pay 70% of the cost of the laptops. Here in PNG, lecturers are not paid much. They need help to pay of their component of the cost. Please contact this writer if anyone wants to help.
