The Bain trial jury is now out considering the evidence - Hutts Challenge day six...

The Bain trial jury went out at about 4-30 pm last evening to consider the evidence. Most people believe here that it will result in a hung jury. Will they go back for another trial...yes?
So many millions of dollars has been spent on this case: the first trial and two appeals; the privy council and now another trial.
So when will enough be enough, I wonder? Hell, he's already spent over twelve years in prison after the original trial.
Compensation, however, is a different matter than proving guilt. You have to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt. With compensation under new Zealand law, you have to prove you are actually innocent - doubt doesn't come into the equation at all!
He may be declared innocent but not receive a cent in compensation!
